hi everyone i would just like to know if it possible to eat raw foods such as sushi, maki and sashimi because i've heard that its not good as there is ans H1N1 outbreak right now? even if we're eating in the near the mddle east, in southern asia?|||That's not how the flu is transmitted. No worries.|||nope, all meats are fine!=)|||its not a foodbourne virus|||yes|||I cannot say yes or no because i cannot be responsible if you get sick, sorry i cannot judge food.
:-)|||Even if you could get the virus from meat, it would only be a problem with pork. Pork is the worst possible meat to eat raw. Pigs carry parasites that can be very dangerous, so all pork should always be cooked thoroughly. In any case, you can't get swine flu from pork.
The only way you could get swine flu from food was if someone preparing the food had swine flu and exercised poor hygiene. In that respect sushi is probably your best bet of all food, as raw seafood requires scrupulous attention to food hygiene, so they will already be operating to a high standard. If they neglected food hygiene, people would get ill and they would be shut down.
Obviously only eat raw food somewhere you know to be safe, as it can go very wrong.|||Non-issue
