I've read so much about the positive aspects of eating a raw food diet I was wondering were there any proven negative drawbacks? Has anyone had any experience with a raw food diet and didn't like what the results?|||When we say raw food diet it was based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, such as vegetables, seeds, grains, nuts, dried fruits, seaweeds, beans and so much more.
Enzymes that assist in our digestion and absorption of food, will be destroyed if a certain food will be heated above 116 degrees F. In a nutshell, cooking will diminish all the nutritional value of food.
That is why; I don't think the diet using raw foods have a negative effect to our body. If you want to take a diet, you should eat raw foods, because at least 75% of diet should must be living on raw.|||I don't think that there are negative aspects of a raw food diet.Maybe at first, they will experience detoxification reaction when they start the raw food diet, especially if their previous diet was rich in sugar, meat, and caffeine. They will have mild headaches, cravings, nausea can occur but usually last for several days.
There are also critics on raw food diet; detractors said that enzymes are inactivated when food is heated. Actually, it doesn鈥檛 matter because the body uses its own enzymes for digestion. On second thought cooking also produce phytochemicals which is easier to absorb, such as beta- carotene in carrots.
In a nutshell, unenthusiastic aspects is seldom on raw food dieting.|||The biggest negative is the cult mentality surrounding this type of diet. It is not so much a food choice for many people, but a community that separates people from the mainstream and offers wisdom from self-professed gurus and other con artists.|||Parasites if you eat meat or fish raw- yes, some meats are eaten raw, or very undercooked!
If there is any chance that the food is contaminated somehow, the bacteria/parasite will not be inabled until heat destroys it.
