Okay, so when I eat some raw fruits and vegetables, my throat and mouth gets really itchy and feels like it's going to almost close.
The foods I've discovered that do it all the time are- carrots, peaches, potatoes
The foods that do it sometimes (usually if I eat a lot)- strawberries and apples
And I'm sure there are more, I just can't remember at the moment.
Why do you think this is?
I heard sometime once about how having seasonal allergies could actually trigger allergies like this, is that true? (I do have seasonal allergies)|||It sounds like you may have oral allergy syndrome. Does it bother you to handle raw foods, like shredded carrots or sliced potatoes; does it make your fingers and hands itch? It is linked with pollen allergies. I used to be allergic to nearly all raw fruits and vegetables. I went to an allergist and had desensitization shots for my pollen allergies. After being on the shots for five years, my allergy to raw fruits and vegetables went away. Now I can actually eat a salad.|||You do sound like you are allergic. Until you are fully aware of what is going on, I would suggest avoiding these foods. A severe allergic reaction could actually kill you. Your throat closes up to stop anything from getting down and you stop breathing basically|||You do have a allergy, I react to many different things including some bottled water, it seems it is not the water but the additives causing my reaction, try a anti-histamine like piriton or benadryl.|||Indeed u are right. You might be allergic to certain vegetables, fruit etc.U should go get checked by an allergy specialist for further detail.Hope this help
