I have been sick with a chronic illness for 15 years and am now almost completely well from Raw foods, but I am kind of hyper, I think because I am so excited about being well. I am too hyper for people. So . I always had very high energy before I was sick and I was teaching elem school so that high energy was to my advantage, , but now that I am 58, and retired, I need to bring it down a notch. Any suggestions Yoga is not for me, but I LOVE to exercise, but how about raw foods or juices ? thanks|||beets do very good things to your adrenal glands are are good for nerves of steel.
banana has tons of potassium- good for jitters and nerve function.
Garlic and omega oils are good for the joints nad general nerve function, the same goes with avocado.
I find ginger, celery, organic apple and cucumber juice really really good for the core- like your stomach, spleen and general centredness.
The celery cleans blood and ginger cleans everything, Organic apple is just the best juice.
Add carrot to that juice if you want it smoother and heavier.
And lastly, this is my absolute favourite. if you need sweets and candy- eat dates and chopped bananas with a squeeze of lemon juice and brown sugar.
The dates and lemon are sooooo good together- if you simmer them lightly, in lemon juice, then swirl some yoghurt, or tofu cream through them,,,,its something else.
but as raw, freshly dried, with the banana and lemon and brown raw sugar, it's a real treat.
For a smoothie= try banana, pear , raw plain yoghrut, date and lemon.
That is the most unbelievable smoothie- the dates make it so creamy.
If you don't want to do yoga, and find in mindnumbing, have you tried extreme stretching?
To flex your joints to where they are designed to go- instead of where you feel the "pain" is very refreshing.
Like being able to touch your forhead on your straightened knees, that kind of thing.
This is a kind of inner shiatsu and stimulates the lymph nodes and all the adrenal glands to flow fully.
Being able to do the splits, bend over sideways to touch your ear to your knee- it's what you get to in a roundabout way with yoga, but I think yoga is too boring for me, I'd always prefer some hefty excersize , so you may find the extreme stretching good for you.
A bit further every day, also it make you breathe very low in your body and after that you realise all the pain you feel is carried high, in your chest.
Doing the stretching, you have to breathe, THROUGH the bit that you are having pain with- it's all in your mind.!
That's how it was for me anyhow.
