I just saw this thing on You Tube that these people lost a great deal of weight by just eating raw foods. Now I am extremely interested in doing this, but is this the same as just becoming a vegetarian? If not can some one pleeeeaaaase explain the difference and show me an example menu of someone that is eating only raw foods, would eat. HELP I'M NEW TO THIS!!!! |||No. Vegetarianism is a meatless diet. Raw foodism (AKA raw veganism) is a plant based diet where nothing is cooked above a certain level. While "regular" vegans are okay eating dairy-free baked goods and cooked foods, raw foodists eat only, well... raw food!

It sounds ridiculously difficult, to the point that it wouldn't be worth it to me. But then again, I'm vegan for animals, an not eating bread isn't gonna save any of the furry ones.|||i dont know why you would want to and i would say no they are not the same|||The difference is that vegetarian means not eating meat. Raw foods is vegan and it's all RAW FOODS. This means raw fruit, raw vegetables, raw nuts, raw seeds. A vegetable stir-fry and a cup of coffee are vegetarian but they're not raw. They're cooked.|||There are raw-fooders who eat fish and other seafood (lots of them) and even some who eat meat. I've taken pleasure in beef tartare on occasion - lean raw ground beef seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and a little salt and pepper.
So although there are vegan raw-fooders, the two things are different.|||Raw food is just what it sounds like: food that's not cooked. Most vegetarians cook their food (have you never eaten a meatless meal like spaghetti with tomato sauce?)

Neither vegetarianism nor raw foodism is a weight loss diet. Vegetarians have a number of reasons for their decision, usually including ethics, environmentalism, politics, health and preferance. Raw foodists believe that it's healthier because cooking destroys certain enzymes in food. You can gain or lose weight following pretty much any eating philosophy; it's just a matter of burning more calories than you consume.|||The raw food diet is really extreme and I don't think it is healthy. Raw vegans eat fruits, veggies, seeds, and nuts. Vegetarians don't eat meat. Vegans don't eat meat, dairy, or eggs. Even if you lose weight on the raw food diet it isn't healthy.|||NO.
Not alll Raw Foodies are Veggies - Vegan. Some eat, raw eggs, dairy, fish & beef.
