*I recently went on Atkins and lost 35 pounds.
*While on Atkins I found out the benefits of the raw food lifestlye and would like to experience good health.|||Don't eat more calories than you burn.

The primary reason Atkins works is calorie reduction. People who go on Atkins cut out whole swaths of calorie-laden foods from their diet. They stop snacking on chips and sugary snacks (carbs), they stop eating bread (carbs), the stop eating potatos (carbs), etc.

It's unusual for someone on Atkins to replace all the calories they cut out of their diets, so they lose weight.

What makes people gain weight when they go back off of Atkins, is that they revert to their previous overeating. They start drinkin beer again (carbs), and they start eating all the bread and potatos again, so they gain weight.

If you go to a raw food diet, you will likely be eating mostly vegetables. There is nothing wrong with that. Measure your calories as you make the transition, and be sure not to overeat. You may lose even more weight.

|||you should be okay, just exercise daily.|||well i can tell u from experience .i was on atkins for 3 years and i went from 290 lbs down to 158 lbs in bout a 9 months.unfortuantly ur body adjust to the life style u changed and it is possible u might gain some weight back til ur body changes over to the new diet also some diets dnt work as well for some people to the next.everyones metabolism is different.try to stay away from high carb foods and added sugars.also if u mean raw foods as in veggies stay away from peas they just turn into sugar when they hit ur body alond with carrets.alot of protein is hard on ur kidneys so limit that and try to subsatute ur carbs for salads.|||Why not keep the principles of Atkins while eating raw foods?|||Well said!
