I'm really excited about starting a purely raw foods diet, and was wondering what kind of recipes or things I can do that will keep me on it without falling off the wagon.|||Cooked food has the same affect on your body as drugs. If you have some, and its in your bloodstream, your body will crave it, and the cravings will be extremely hard to to resist. If you get your body "clean" and go cold turkey (cold turnip) for a few months then the cravings will go away. It takes at least 3 months on 100% raw to get relief from the cravings. 6 months to be "safe". But if you then eat cooked food again your body is not used to it, so it will a) make you ill and b) set off the cravings far worse than before.
So if you're serious about switching to raw - and I don't really recommend it, I think wholefoods vegan is healthier, I only eat raw because cooked food now makes me very ill, my body is no longer adapted to it - if you're serious then you need to be rigid and stick to it 100% for at least 3 months. Then you'll be okay.
For those three months don't worry about eating healthily, just eat anything you want, as much as you want, so long as it's raw. Eat raw cake for dinner if you want to, eat raw pie and icecream, sweets, a lot of fatty salty things, anything so long as its raw. If you feel like falling off the wagon and binging, binge on something raw and extravagant. Make raw lasagna, caponata, ravioli, nutloaf, raw burgers, chocolate mousse pie, cheesecake. Have those everyday. Then when you've been "clean" for 3 - 6 months, then start eating a healthy raw food diet with lots of juice, green smoothies, greens, sauerkraut, sprouts, and limited gourmet meals. (you can still have raw cake and lasagna but not every day)
Green juice and green smoothies also help control cravings. They make your body more alkaline. The more acid your body is the more it will want junk. Anne Wigmores energy soup (not really soup, its a blended gunk, and most people hate the taste but its miraculous stuff) also is great for reducing cravings.|||Humans did not evolve to eat a diet consisting of exclusively raw vegetables and fruit. We cannot digest thing like cellulose. raw grains, or raw beans. Eventually the cravings will become so great that either you fall off the wagon and give up, or you become extremely malnourished. 鈭犅?|||Plan your meals weekly
