I'd like to switch my dogs to a healthier diet, but I am unable to switch to a completely raw diet due to time and safety issues for my children.|||There isn't any food that can match the nutrition of a raw diet. However, I would recommend Innova Evo dog food, it's definitely one of the best. I switched my dog to it from Iams, and the change has been unbelievable.|||I know how you feel.
the following site really could help you i use it a lot.
it tells about how much your dog should way, what to feed it, what not to feed it, and much more!

I KNOW IT WILL HELP PLEASE USE THIS SITE!|||Natures Variety is good. Also there is the new Wellness food called Kor that is all protein no grains. You can also cook regular food instead of feeding it raw.|||IMHO there isn't. However, it takes me an hour or so a week to prepare meals for my dog.
After a batch or two, you will NOT worry about "safety" issues as you learn your ways.
Give it a try.
Late Entry : could you elaborate on "safety issues for my children" please?|||I USE THE WAL MART BRAND OF GOURMET FOODS. DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF MEATS, CHUNKY AND SOLID.|||Fair enough. I, like Judgerz, feed Innova Evo (red meat). I switched from Nutro and you wouldn't believe the difference.
My dog on Science Diet (?) or whatever the shelter gave her:

I can definitely tell the difference in how shiny her coat is, for one. If you aren't willing to give raw feeding a trial run (as someone else suggested), then I 100% recommend Innova.|||I understand that the effort required to raw feed might be daunting for some people, but unless your children would be eating out of the dog bowls or you have a dirty house with raw meat laying around and dried blood on your countertops there aren't any safety issues with children.|||try wellness or eagle pack dog food that's as close as you can get to the raw diet
