I made some tamales and froze them. I want to have them for dinner tonight but don't know if I should thaw before steaming them. Also for other foods, can I take straight from the freezer to pan?|||AS for the tamales - YES thaw them.
AS for the other foods - it DEPENDS on what you are cooking.
Veggies do not need to thaw if cooking for soups, stews, casseroles. |||mostly everything you need to thaw out before cooking...
and yes, tamales thaw them out them steam them in the pot|||They will need to thaw, as will most meats.
There are a few foods like instant meals, frozen battered or crumbed fish fillets and other packaged foods that can be cooked from frozen. (check the label)
