i live in nyc where do i get organic how to i now if its really organic|||I live in NYC too and the only places that come to mind when I think "organic" would be...
Whole Foods stores [theres one in Union Sq]
The Garden [if you like Brooklyn, theres one in Greenpoint]
Bedford in Brooklyn has a lot of vegan restaurants, and like "shops" I guess.
But that's all that comes to mind.|||even though most foods are not organic these days and organic stuff is very hard to find in some places, very few foods are genetically modified as of now. i watched a movie called 'the beautiful truth' and it says that this group of people is working to stop gmo crops from getting out into the mainstream. they say that they have already stopped rice, wheat, and other stuff from being gmo. the only foods that can be legally gmo in the mainstream as of now are canola, corn, cotton, and soy. and i am sure that if you look hard enough around stores where you live you will find one shop or maybe more that sells organic foods.
edit: you can rest assured that if it labeled as organic than it is almost always going to be organic. but, try to get certified organic instead of just organic, because if it is not certified, sometimes individual companies can make their own organic rules and label their products as such if they avoid some pesticides, not all of them.
