I can't really figure out how to get started. There is too much info on her websites to sift through. Can anybody tell me how to get started on a raw foods diet. What books do I get, products do I need, etc...
|||The first book to get is "Raw Food Made Easy" by Jennifer Cornbleet.
The second is "The Complete Book of Raw Food" by Lori Baird and Julie Rodwell.
As far as equipment goes, the first thing you'll probably want is a dehydrator. Also, recipes often call for the use of a juicer, a high speed blender and a spiral slicer.
A really helpful website:

My favorite is "Alive in Five"...though the recipes do take me a bit longer than five minutes as a rule, it is a good book to start because the recipes are very simple and require minimal special equipment. It also has a seven day menu outlined for you....so all you have to do is follow it. [That works as long as you like the menu items presented.]
For myself, I decided the best way (to start transitioning) was to find a new raw food recipe to try every week. Over the course of a year, this has me trying over 50 recipes. I also frequent the eateries that offer raw food selections, and often come home with a new menu item to make on my own.
There are a number of health spas/resorts that offer a raw food cuisine. Many even offer classes in going raw, to make the transition easier. The local health food store here (it's a Whole Foods store) offers the occasional mini-class on raw food techniques. You can check in your area to see if that is an option.
Good luck, and happy eating.|||Don't cook your food?
