my dogs won't eat dog foods wet or dry they don't like it.
They like raw steaks and chicken feet and chicken neck bones.
advantage for me because chicken necks and feet are cheap!|||Nope I don't want my dog eating raw meat, just not what I think she should eat
I feed my dog Orijen.
I love how people have to thumb you down if they don't feed the same thing xD|||It's completely healthy for dogs to eat raw meat.
Be sure the meat is not spoiled. It is best not to feed the bones because they can splinter and pierce organs.
Do not cook the meat with bones in it, this actually makes the bones more brittle and easier to splinter.
If you can get meat straight from a butcher that's probably best. And meat on a large bone such as a leg bone is probably safe, just avoid chicken bones.
If the meat is boneless cut it into easily chewable cubes to avoid choking.
As far as the dog refusing to eat other foods, I assure you he will. If you WANT to get him off of the raw meat be persistent with whatever dog food you've chosen. He will not starve, he will eat it. But if you're ok with the raw diet and you're being selective about your meat, there is nothing wrong with it.|||My dogs eat rabbits if they catch them in the yard (we don't condone that, but there's not much we can do; they ARE in the yard). And we give them gizzards at thanksgiving.
However, they also eat dry dog food, and the raw meat is an occasional treat. If you want to feed them only raw meat, I recommend lightly cooking the meat before feeding--they don't need it, because their saliva and stomach acids are much stronger and can handle most bacteria, but it's a good precaution and less messy. Also make sure to cut it up. They do not need as much meat as dry or wet food, because there are no fillers. Give them dentabones and dry "treats" with vitamins to keep up health. See a vet about supplements that may be needed, and the best kind of meats to feed them.
EDIT: OH and they love raw or very very lightly cooked eggs too, and that's good for their coats.|||I feed my great dane raw-diet and It work good for him compare to top of line dry foods that i had been feeding.
whenever i recommend raw-diet to yahoo answer board, people get freaked out for some reason. Also, do not ever cook the meat or the bone. plus don't ever feed dry food once you starts raw-diet.
It will cause some problem on your dog.
yes, raw steak, chicken feet, neck are great. however, you need to balance amount of meat(pork, beef, chicken, fish, egg, and etc), bone, and organ part(heart, liver, tripe, and etc) in oder to make a balanced meal for you dog.
for example feed liver once a week, feed raw bone to control stool firmness, and etc.
it is not that hard as you think. Do research then you will see!!|||Abigail Staples is obviously an idiot - a very unlearned idiot. Feeding dogs raw food is actually quite healthy; I'll include some links.

I would like to go pack to prey model, but I'm terrified.|||It's not good for any animal or human to eat raw meat. It is inhumane. I suggest going to the vet to make sure your dog is still in a healthy condition.|||I think its OK but maybe a little unhealthy. U should go to the vet and see if she/he can do anything about it
