My doctor said I need to eat a lot more raw foods but I don't want to lose any weight. I actually want to gain some weight. I'm 5'4 and 100 lbs. Is it possible to eat a lot of raw foods and not lose weight?|||
Eating raw food doesn't make you loose weight. Getting less calories makes you loose weight. That being said, most raw foods are low calorie, so you'll probably have to eat a little more than you do now, but you shouldn't be afraid to eat some fruits and vegetables once in a while. |||He probably just meant you need to add veggies and fruit to your diet. Veggies don't necessarily have to be raw, although some studies suggest they are better for you that way. Just eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and lean protein and you'll be fine.
I do not do the "raw food diet," and dropped a doctor once because he was such a proponent that he started chastising his patients who wanted to cook their food.
Unless you have some specific disorder that he was referring to you about, then a healthy clean eating meal plan is fine.|||raw vetables will be healthy but not raw meats that could kill you|||Your doctor probably wants you to eat raw foods because it's the best form of fiber and nutrients....if you're underweight you could have a mineral/vitamin deficiency meaning you can't hold on to healthy weight. You will start feeling a lot healthier if you eat your veggies raw! Let me know if you have any other questions about raw eating!
