is a female ferret more fun than a male ferret?
is there any ferret websites that sell ferret eqipment that you can give me?
also when you get a female nutered does it calm it down and shorten its lifesan can somone please give me an answer plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz|||First off, Congratulations on being one of the few ferret owners that realize that ferrets are CARNIVORES!
RAW:
Most commercially-prepared raw feeds can be fed to ferrets. Nature's Variety and Primal both make very nice complete feeds. Feed the quantity you would to a cat of your ferret's weight.
If it's too expensive for you, or you want a dry food that falls in line with your awesome carnivore diet, EVO (Innova) makes a phenomenal grain-free ferret food. (NaturaPet.com to find a store who carries it)
If you're just looking for raw treats, any raw meat (human grade!) makes a great snack. Some don't do well with pork or fish, but Chicken and Turkey are always a good choice.
MALE v FEMALE:
Neither is more fun, but males (especially neutered males) tend to be more mellow, where females tend to be more feisty. Exercise is a big factor, too, so make sure he/she gets plenty!
WEBSITES:
google gives you a ton, I'll let you do the search yourself.
FEMALE SPAYING:
Getting a female spayed (or a male neutered, for that matter) will actually extend their lifespan and keep them more "level-headed", not calmer. Hormones can cause certain abnormalities to turn cancerous, and can also lead to behavior problems such as spraying/marking and destrustive behavior. Getting any pet Spayed or Neutered is always the responsible thing to do.
Good Luck
