I just wanted to know why some people would prefer raw foods like sushi and not cooked foods.|||because it is more healthy for the body. I love cooked food because of the many flavors and exciting different ways in which it can be prepared, but the truth is, the human animal, (you, and I), were not designed to think about what we eat, only to eat what was available.|||I honestly am a horrible cook. I don't mind the taste of raw over cooked, so it's just a million times easier for me to eat lots of raw food.|||Because when you cook foods they lose some of the vitamins that are in them naturally. Not to mention some foods just have a great flavor without cooking them.|||The raw fruits vegetables and meats have natural enzymes that help to break down foods. These enzymes start to change structure with heat above 115 degrees Fahrenheit. If cooed these enzymes become useless.
The proponents of raw foods cite these digestive enzymes as one of their major reasons to eat raw foods. This argument should be viewed in light of following two otherfacts.
1. The body itself generates the digestive enzymes and does not need them from raw foods.
2. The internal body temperature would destroy the the enzymes in raw foods any way before they can be used|||Many foods are great raw, green peas staight out of the garden uncooked, carrots and radishes, strawberries, and heaps of other fruit.

BTW The rice is cooked, and the fish is selectect to be safe when eaten raw.|||Sushi is not raw. Sushi refers to the sticky seasoned rice which is cooked.The raw fish is called Sashimi.|||because of personal preference. Not 'because' its raw. fish turns a different texture when you cook. theyre both good but some people just like how fish tastes when its raw like when its made into sushi.
notice not all fish can be eaten as sushi/sashimi.|||cause thats how the dish is, and some people want to eat raw food. but i'd just stick to cooking my food.|||They believe it's better for them.|||I eat raw because I like it that way else I don't mind cooing as I love to cook.|||It tastes good due to a different taste and texture of the raw fish. Humans ate raw food before they discovered fire and then food cooked by the heat of the fire was discovered.

Why do we have to eat canned fruits when they can be eaten raw?

Cooking is not confined to preparing food with heat.
Some food get chemically cooked (like the chemical reaction when fish is marinated in vinegar).
