Can i feed him biscuist in the morning and a mixture of raw foods in the afternoon?
Any recommendatiosn fro Pitbulls?
Please only positive answers, no "dnt feed him raw food"|||A raw diet is great, as long as it is the proper raw diet. There are many websites that can help you. Also, vets usually know NOTHING about nutrition (which is why the foods they recommend are crap like Iams and Purina), so if you want to talk to someone contact a canine nutritionist. A 13 week old puppy should be eating three times a day, and you can switch that to two times a day anywhere between 4 and 6 months. There is also no need for a dog that young to be getting treats of any kind unless you are using them as training treats (which since you said biscuits in the morning I am guessing you are not)|||This would be a problem. You don't describe exactly what your "raw foods" consist of but it is doubtful it is the required and balanced nutrition required or recommended for a growing baby. Talk to your vet about nutrition. It is so important for the development and growth of his bones and neurological system. He is a high energy puppy so his nutritional needs are great right now and lay the foundation for his health for the rest of his life. Giving him "biscuits" in the morning is inadequate to the point of being cruel (from a nutritional standpoint - not meant to be a harsh comment). Think about it. He has been asleep in his crate or where ever all night. He has not had any calorie intake since the afternoon meal and probably no water for hydration. So his first meal of the day should be hearty, of good nutritional level, and satisfying. Puppies need to eat often because they can't eat much at a time. Otherwise, their blood sugar can really plummet and this is a real problem for a baby. He could go to sleep and not wake up (I know someone who lost their puppy this way - he was not intentionally starving his puppy but he didn't know any better and was feeding the little guy like an adult dog). Again, you should consider getting some advice from your vet about good food choices for your puppy. The diet you describe is incomplete to meet your puppy's needs and you want to offer him the best possible opportunity to be strong and healthy.|||Here is a list of great sites that helped me immensely when I first started looking at the RAW diet

http://www.dogforums.com/5-dog-food-foru鈥?/a>|||There are some good sites and books on "raw" food diets for dogs. Some people believe a raw diet is healtheir for dogs.

Do be careful the foods are appropriate & not spoiled. Dogs can get food poisoning.|||I have never heard of a "raw" diet. But I think pet foods are probably better. If you are concerned about nutrition, maybe you could ask your vet or your local PetSmart?
